Track Name: All Mine Tonight
You’re all mine tonight and I’m putting on a show
Take you back from the bar and get you out of your clothes
Cause girl we’ve got to fall in love before we get too old
You’re all mine tonight, I’ll be the one to take you home

Looking at your smile, I can tell it’s been a little while
Since you’ve been honest with yourself, it should be upside down
But hey we all put on a face, of what we think we ought to be
And there ain’t nothing wrong with that, less you start to forget what’s under it

You can keep telling me how you’re so happy
And I’ll keep quiet, bout why we’re still talking

You’re all mine tonight and I’m putting on a show
Take you back from the bar and get you out of your clothes
Cause girl we’ve got to fall in love before we get too old
You’re all mine tonight, I’ll be the one to take you home

You’re leaning into me, though it’s much too loud for whispering
I don’t mind that I can’t hear anything, we’re both in need of pretending
So we beat bends into the truth, to hide the times we’ve acted cruel
And there ain’t nothing wrong with that, less you start to forget you’re not the only one

You can keep telling me how the night’s still young
While I spit my old tricks out of this turret called my tongue

You’re all mine tonight and I’m putting on a show
Take you back from the bar and get you out of your clothes
Cause girl we’ve got to fall in love before we get too old
You’re all mine tonight, I’ll be the one to take you home

When the day is through, and you’ve got nobody staying up for you
Home when the days been long, and the years flew by you’re still alone
Oh I feel it, just as much as you do

But tonight there’s no need for us to feel guilty
I’m using you, you’re using me

You’re all mine tonight and I’m putting on a show
Take you back from the bar and get you out of your clothes
Cause girl we’ve got to fall in love before we get too old
You’re all mine tonight, I’ll be the one to take you home
Track Name: Roots
I believe everybody has a dream
That nine times out of ten presents some trouble in following
But you’ve got to do what makes you feel right
I understand sacrifice
Just know it can be a nightmare on the other side

I agree everyone’s got a hand in their destiny
Though nine times out of ten what you think you want isn’t what you need
But you’re going to go and give it a try
Maybe I do have a fear of heights
Just know you’ll tear up the ground if you take flight

See you’ve got roots for a reason
So why do you want to sail with the wind?

If you get what you want tell me what will be the price?
Is it worth it to abandon all the love you have in your life?
Under bright lights, there’s still cold nights, success won’t warm your skin
If you get what you want will it be worth it in the end?

Can’t you see what all of this is doing to me?
And not just me, you’re tearing up this family
You seethe “I’m gonna be what I’m gonna be”
You know I used to want to be wild and free
But honey I got back my grip on reality

See we’ve got roots for a reason
So we don’t get swept away with the wind

If you get what you want tell me what will be the price?
Is it worth it to abandon all the love you have in your life?
Under bright lights, there’s still cold nights, success won’t warm your skin
If you get what you want will it be worth it in the end?

You said that roots were constricting
And that hot wind was breathing

If you get what you want I hope it’s worth the price
Of cutting off the ropes that hold the love you have in your life
Under bright lights, there’s still cold nights, sometimes in winning you don’t win
If you get what you want I hope it’s worth it in the end
Track Name: A Raft in the Ocean
Take your best shot, though you can’t see a thing
Don’t matter bout skill, luck’s everything
And just when you think you know where you’re aiming
The target will move, it’s constantly changing

Oh I know and she knows, love’s a raft in the ocean
You make what you can and you hope it keeps floating
Cause you’ve got no control, love’s but a map and the notion
That there’s a home out there for us, if we somehow can hold on
Through the rain, and the waves, and the long stormy nights

I mull over words, that were spoken to me
“If believing was easy, then dying would be cheap”
And just when you think, you know what you’re doing
The game starts to change, winning becomes losing

Oh I know and she knows, life’s a raft in the ocean
You make what you can and you hope it keeps floating
Cause you’ve got no control, life’s but a map and the notion
That there’s a home out there for us, if we somehow can hold on
Through the rain, and the waves, and the long stormy nights

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, through all of my falls
It’s if you want to stand straight, you can’t be too proud to crawl
Cause just when you think, you’ve figured it out
Your new found knowledge, gets trampled down by doubt

Oh I know and she knows, love’s a raft in the ocean
You make what you can and you hope it keeps floating
Cause all you’ve got is hope, life’s but a map and the notion
That there’s a home out there for us if we somehow can hold on
Through the rain, and the waves, and the long stormy nights
Track Name: Don't want to make a Mistake
Summer wind’s still blowing 'tween the trees
Carries your voice to me
It sings “life’s a breeze,
You’ve only to believe “

But I don’t have it figured out like you
Most nights I feel confused
Wish there was a way
That I could know what I’m supposed to do

If I wait and I stay
No nothing’s gonna change
Don’t want to make a mistake

The road is open wide
We can go anywhere tonight
Though we might get lost
It’s better than sticking in the same spot

The fall is inching into the air
We’re still standing here
In the same place
I’m wearing the same face, full of doubt and fear

See it’s hard trying to be more like you
Most nights I feel like a fool
Wish there was a way
To not be so afraid of all of these things

If I wait and I stay
No nothing’s gonna change
Don’t want to make a mistake

The road is open wide
We can go anywhere tonight
Though we might get lost
It’s better than sticking in the same spot

But my feet are stuck to the floor
And you won’t wait for me anymore
Though you might get lost you say
“It’s better than being held in the same spot"

If I wait and I stay
No nothing’s gonna change
Don’t want to make a mistake
Track Name: Can all be so Easy
The birds sing so softly, while the wind, it roars along
Till they find a field where they feel they do belong
Like the birds and the wind I have been searching
But like the worms I ain’t too smart
Always wait for rain and get eaten up before I’ve moved too far

Oh, what good is a metaphor for
When you’re waltzing in a three?
I’ll say it plain and simple
Won’t try to hide behind no simile
I’m lonely
Lonely
Again

Breathing in breathing out watching it all burn down
Both the good and the bad turning to ashes on the ground
When it all collapses it’s time to walk away
Breathing in breathing out it can all be so easy

Well, I’ve been trying to keep my head up
You can’t keep a good man down
But I’ve been feeling low might try my luck in another town
Cause see the rain doesn’t seem so bad when you’re already soaking
And water won’t help much if it’s the reason that you’re choking

Oh but what good is a metaphor for
When you’re waltzing in a three?
I’ll say it plain and simple
Won’t try to hide behind no hyperbole
I’m lonely
Lonely
Again

Breathing in breathing out watching it all burn down
Both the good and the bad turning to ashes on the ground
When it all collapses it’s time to walk away
Breathing in breathing out it can all be so easy
It can all be so easy

There’s a smile on my face as I watch it all fall through
You see it always felt like I had something to prove
When what if all I am that’s all I’m ever gonna be
There’s a smile on my face that’s trying its best to believe
That it can all be so easy

But do the birds fly free and fearlessly?
Or is the wind just dragging them along
Track Name: July Heat
Alive were the nights the cicadas did nott sleep
The wind rustled the trees, sounds of thunder, raining leaves
We were falling in love, or so it seemed
It was probably the whiskey, or the July heat
Wandering through the streets

Now that buzz has long since ceased, and when I see a bug I squash it
I’ve no more long days to waste, more long lines crowd my face
There’s a girl here I can love, or so it seems
It could be the whiskey, or the ice that lines the streams
The years that change our feelings
The winds that age these dreams and steal away the July heat

But this life it moves so fast, so I will offer her this ring
Though I will not beg for happiness, for her I’ll only drop down on one knee
Because I still remember those sweaty dizzy streets
Where the nights came alive, back in the July heat
Track Name: Smiling so Wide
The sun’s still shining
So baby dry those tears,
Let’s raise a glass
To our 'wasted years'
Who cares we never left this town
You like the smell of spring too much anyway
To be wearing pant suits, telling half truths
Locked in a board room in some busy city,
Where on a clear day you might see
Two seagulls, if you’re lucky

Ain’t it a shame how the fast the time flies
When you’re in love with being alive
I never climbed a mountain or deep sea dived
But with you I’m still smiling so wide

Well that novel never did get finished
But you’ve made a million stories of your own,
And always sent the kids off to dream
with dragons or jungles that your mind had grown.
We don’t live in a mansion
Haven’t a gardener or a maid
Yet, between the furnace breaks and peeling paint
I kind of like this place,
I think that we’ve really got it made!

Ain’t it a shame how fast the time flies
When you’re in love with being alive
I never backpacked through Europe or saw the sites
But with you I’m still smiling so wide

To catch your eyes I see
The only thing worth holding
Some of our dreams didn’t come true
But I wouldn’t call them broken

Ain't it a shame how fast the time flies
When you’re in love with being alive
I never hit a home run, never even threw a strike
But you with you, I’m still smiling so wide

Look at me darling,
We didn’t waste a single second of our lives
Track Name: Much Younger
Float on in, glance around,
Spend a couple minutes trying your best to figure out,
Why you don’t feel anything
While everyone else is wearing tears and you aren’t even
blinking

Are you that cold? Some kind of coded machine?
That can walk right out of this room as if nothing had happened
While everyone surrounds the bed,
You’re not even sure why you’re standing there

And the nights alive just outside the window
Cars splash red upon the pillow
Where crow’s feet cut deeply into eyes much younger

My aunt takes my hand to hold
Squeezes while my mother speaks low, old stories, jokes,
psalms, comforting quotes
Peroxide paddles into the cool of the room
Through the vents rumbling chest, humming tunes like a bassoon

And the monitors are alive, just beside her pillow
Dancing like the moon's waltz through the window
Where ribs cage a heart much younger

As they say their goodbyes, you mouth along the words
Try with all your might to hide the fact that you’re not hurt
And the nurse looked pretty good in that strobe light green
And you wonder if that burger place will still be open…

I remember, maybe five years old
Took me out, bought me my first radio
And said “don’t listen to nothing but classic country”

The antenna could stretch taller than I was
I used to think that the signals came from up above
Cause nobody ever sang like that on Sundays

It’s kind of weird talking like this to a stone,
I’m glad you’re not in pain anymore,
I’m sorry it took so long to say goodbye

I was callous, I was selfish
Crocodile tears and a helmet,
I didn’t know who I was back then

You know, sometimes these days
I think you’re trying to reach me by those same airwaves
When I hear songs like,
“Oh Susanna, don’t you weep for me,
I come from Alabama, with this banjo on my knee”.
Or,
“Hey good lookin’, what yah got cookin’?
How’s about cookin’ something up with me?”
Track Name: One and the Same
Keep your heart open, try not to change
Those closed off minds are all one and the same
Remember that love, is really all that you’ve got
Cause hot blood can change the most genius of thoughts

Then pick a path, do your best not to stray
If you live for the night, you’ll miss out on the day
Remember, tomorrow ain't no guarantee
Don’t you ever forget just what that means

Pray with me till the sun comes up
Sing me songs of hope and trust
Stay with me till the winter’s frost
I don’t doubt that you can come down from that cross
Can I count on you when I’m feeling lost?
Can I count on you when I’m feeling lost

Let me tell you, walking miles can wear on your soul
When the west winds blowing, biting and bold
And all you want is somebody, just to call your own
No there ain’t no cure for traveling alone

You miss your home, the sweet scent of pine, soaring skies
Friends too busy to even say goodbye
But don’t be so proud, don’t run from your pain
Those closed off hearts are all one and the same

Pray with me till the sun comes up
Sing me songs of hope and trust
Stay with me till the winter’s frost
I don’t doubt that you can come down from that cross
Can I count on you when I’m feeling lost?
Can I count on you when I’m feeling lost?
